The Peoria Garden Club was originally formed in 1924 but was discontinued for 6 years during World War II (from 1944 to 1950). The members filed for Incorporation of their club in 1964. That Incorporation was amended in 1990 to indicate the club had applied to the IRS for a 501(c)3 non-profit status.
Once the club achieved that status, any funds earned were dedicated to specific uses which include Education about Gardening, Preservations/Conservation of Natural Resources, and City Beautification and Advancement of Gardening.

This annual sale of member-donated plants produces funds for selected projects which promote civic beautification and environmental enrichment. Plants are donated from local gardens, and any left over plants are donated to area programs.
Speakers at our monthly general meetings offer educational opportunities for our members and are open to the community. Monthly workshops offer additional learning experiences for Peoria Garden Club members.
